Haruka: “WAIT A SECOND!”

Macy: “What now?!”

Haruka quickly pulled out her phone.

Haruka: “There's something I HAVE to show you!”

She opened her gallery and found one of her drawings: a cheerful catgirl with long black hair, green eyes, and an apple in her hand.

Haruka: “See?! I've drawn catgirls before! I just never thought I'd actually meet one!”

Macy stared at the screen.

Her ears slowly perked up.

Macy: “...Why does that look EXACTLY like my cousin Rosie?”

Haruka blinked.

Haruka: “Your... cousin?”

Macy: “Yeah. Rosie Valentine.”

Haruka froze.

Haruka: “...Her name is Rosie?”

Macy: “YES?”

Haruka looked back at the drawing.

Haruka: “I named her Rosie too...”

Silence.

Macy: “Bullshit.”

Haruka: “I'M SERIOUS!”

Macy pointed at the apple.

Macy: “AND THE APPLES?!”

Haruka: “SHE LOVES APPLES!”

Macy stared at her.

Haruka stared back.

Neither knew what to say.

Macy: “Okay... somehow this got even weirder.”

Haruka nervously laughed.

Haruka: “Maybe some questions are better left unanswered.”

Macy: “Nope. I'm gonna be thinking about this shit for months.”

Haruka giggled before turning toward the portal.

Haruka: “Thank you for helping me, Macy.”

Macy smiled.

Macy: “Anytime. Although maybe don't jump into random portals anymore?”

Haruka blushed.

Haruka: “...No promises.”

Macy: “Oh my god.”

Haruka stepped halfway through before looking back.

Haruka: “Tell Alice I said goodbye!”

Macy: “Will do!”

Haruka smiled.

Haruka: “Goodbye, Macy!”

Macy: “Later, Haruka!”

And with that, Haruka disappeared through the rift.

Moments later, she stumbled back into her own backyard in Japan.

Everything was exactly as she'd left it.

Haruka looked behind her at the portal.

Haruka: “...Did all of that really just happen?”

She looked down at her phone.

Then at her drawing of Rosie.

Haruka smiled.

Haruka: “...Yeah. It did.”
