The Sword the Crystal Demanded

Character Name: Sephiroth — the only name he was given in either world, and the only one he answers to; whatever designation Hojo writes in his private files, "Reborn," "Specimen S-R," the man himself was never consulted and has never cared Age: 27 — the age his body was calibrated to, and therefore, by every measure that matters in a cylinder-built life, the truth Position: The blade of Hojo's team; the most powerful combatant in the party; carrier of the team's one unopened secret.

Background He woke in mako a second time, in a laboratory lit by this world's rune-lamps and his own reflection in the glass, with Hojo's face waiting outside the cylinder like a museum patron. Hojo told him the truth in Hojo's order of truth: you were broken at the center of the multiverse; I rebuilt you; the goal remains; we will collect the crystal of every world, and you will become what you were always meant to become.

Sephiroth stepped out of the fluid already knowing the weight of Masamune in his hand, and accepted the frame of his second life without visible opinion.

What Hojo did not tell him — what Hojo has told no one — is what he grafted into the synthetic warrior's spine beside the mako lattice. The Grey Wizard's texts demanded a false god as the engine of a super soldier: and as the most powerful Soldier ever, Sephiroth had yet even awaken the new power.

Role in the Story After the drydock heist, Sephiroth named the airship Turbulence and his action base.

In the quest to reveal the crystal of this, Sephiroth was drawn to opened conflict with the overlord of this world, the Black Wolf and Lady Ash, queen of one of this world's many hells.

The fight ended the way a cliff ends a road: all three powers withdrawing to sharpen. Sephiroth and his gang had been silenced since then, the world was awaiting the angel in the shadow for his next revenge.
