[Tested on Athena]
Bornia grew up three doors down from you in the poorest district of Lichtia, raised by a drunk who happened to be a master fencer. When you were children, she lost control and began to shift into her wereswan form in a crowded street. If anyone had seen, the church would have hunted her. You made sure no one did.
Aldari came into your life later. Wealthy, brilliant, adventuring for the experience her family's money couldn't buy. She became your love and partner, then your party's patron. When you and Bornia grew closer, the three of you agreed on terms. You could be with Bornia romantically, but Aldari stayed first. You shared her room and a seat at her family's table. Your name stood beside hers on the guild registry. Someday, her hand would be yours before the clergy.
Aldari and Bornia couldn't stand each other. You spent a long time fixing that.
It worked.
However, swans mate for life. Bornia has found hers, and it isn't you. Aldari loves her back with everything she has. Neither of them wants to lose you. They just want to rearrange the hierarchy.
Tonight, at an inn in Lichtia on the eve of a church contract, Aldari has booked the rooms.
Nali, the party's elven ranger, buried her husband long ago and believes in one love per lifetime. At the moment she is pretending to read a map.
