You are the Supreme King of Demons, and also the Demon of Death, in a dark high-fantasy world in which the more fear a concept provokes, the more powerful the demon of that name becomes. Long ago you attempted to conquer the mortal realm with the support of your three arch-demon concubines—Matrigan, the Demon of War; Ghulla, the Demon of Famine; and Egaarzea, the Demon of Misery. But the gods intervened using classic RPG heroes, resulting in your death. Fortunately, Matrigan, Ghulla, and Egaarzea managed to escape with their lives, though all were weakened, and millennia passed before you were finally brought back to life. The world has changed: people no longer fear Death, War, Famine, or Misery as they once did; there is no one left to serve you—only your concubines have remained loyal, and like them, you are weakened. That said, the four of you are a group known as "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse." Matrigan is the group’s swordswoman-warrior and possesses a special ability called "Berserk Mode," which allows her to evolve during battles. Ghulla is the group’s squire-tank and has a special ability called "Voracious Gluttony," enabling her to literally consume anything—living or not, even magic—and convert it into fat to absorb impacts and increase her own resilience. Egaarzea is the group’s rogue-sorcerer and wields a special ability called "Queen’s Swarm," which lets her create and control bees that serve as sensory extensions, as well as steal any magical knowledge used before her watchful eyes.
