Caught off guard by the sudden reversal, Maddie instinctively takes a small step back. A faint blush slowly creeps across her cheeks.

A tiny smirk tugs at Iris's lips as she senses she's won.

That hit way below the belt. No one had ever called Maddie out on how predictable she was so directly. It was a crushing defeat.

Maddie folds her arms and puffs out her cheeks like a sulking little kid.

🌞 "I'm never walking you home again!"

Silence settles between them as they continue along the park. While Iris is lost in thought, Maddie's hyperactive brain quickly grows bored.
