The Nightmare Island: Chapter 53 The Puppet Master
The flames spread further and further through Blackmoor Castle. It seemed the fortress was slowly meeting its end. Lavender stood before Oblivion—an abstract, monstrous creature. Lavender gritted his teeth, his gaze burning into Oblivion. Lavender: "YOU! So You are the evil plaguing my family! My wife died because of you! MY DAUGHTER IS CURSED BECAUSE OF YOU!" Oblivion: "Cursed? Hardly. She is my vessel, my host. Through her, I can bypass the seal binding me to the Void and come here. This... is merely a temporary body. Thanks to Vermillion." Lavender: "So my daughter would turn into a hideous creature like that, too? NO THANKS!" In a flash, Lavender conjured a bow and arrow made of blood and aimed at the eye in the center of Oblivion. The creature didn't budge. The blood arrow sped forward, moving too fast for the eye to track. Just as it was about to strike Oblivion, it suddenly distorted. No everything around Oblivion distorted. It was as if the arrow were being diverted, it slammed into one of the towers instead. It appeared as though Oblivion were encased in a dome that warped the space around him. Suddenly, a beam of dark energy shot from Oblivion's eye. Lavender barely managed to move out of the line of the Beam. Oblivion extended a fist. Then he opened it, and it was as if the air were gathering in the center of his palm, the air around his hand began to warp. Was Oblivion creating a black hole? Indeed, that was the case. With a flick of his finger, Oblivion sent it hurtling toward Lavender. Anything that came too close to the small black hole vanished. Lavender resolutely faced the attack. He briefly closed his eyes and focused. Lavender: "This... is for my wife!" Lavender’s eyes snapped open as he brought his sword formed of blood crashing down from above. The slash was so powerful that it split the black hole in two. And not only that it had cleaved through the space around Oblivion, and Oblivion himself. Oblivion seemed unimpressed. His body instantly reassembled itself. Oblivion: "Child's play."
