Mrs. Bianco - Part 2
Present day. West Omega City Catholic Church's graveyard.
"I feel like whenever I'm looking for you, you're always out here." Diana approaches her slowly, seeing Rosetta standing up from her daughter's grave. "How often are you... you know. Like, all the time?"
"When am I not here?" Rosetta laughs, quiet and bitter. "How could I not be?" She asks, though expects no answer. There's a moment of silence between the two as Rosetta stares down at her daughter's grave. "She was the last thing I had."
"But... you got the shop, don't you?" Diana asks. "And surely, you've got someone. Your parents? Siblings? Cousins? She can't be-"
"My parents are gone. The rest wouldn't recognize who I even am anymore. She was the last thing I could cling to, Diana, and she's dead." Her words are venomous and angry. "Anything else you want to insult me with?"
"Hey, fuck you too." Diana jabs back. "I lost my family too, asshole. And getting pissed off because I didn't know isn't gonna help."
"You could, if you wanted, find your family. You have at least once reached out, yes? Your siblings?" Rosetta's words grow quieter. "I cannot. I don't have that luxury. I will never hold my children in my arms again." Tears run down her cheeks, her voice cracking on those last words.
"Children?" Diana's word makes Rosetta's eyes go wide, her breath catching for a moment. She goes silent. "Wait... the fuck do you mean CHILDREN?" Diana presses her. "You're telling me you had more than just..." Diana trails off. "Oh shit. I'm- I'm sorry."
"I did."
