ORPHEUS INTEGRATED SYSTEMS is one of the six major independent Striker manufacturers and the company most closely associated with electronic warfare, battlefield coordination, and support operations.

Unlike most major contractors, ORPHEUS did not begin as a robotics manufacturer. Its predecessor, Orpheus Tactical Networks, was founded in 2179 as a developer of encrypted military communications, autonomous drone-control software, battlefield data networks, and electronic countermeasure systems.

As Strikers became increasingly important during the late 22nd century, ORPHEUS engineers noticed a growing problem: individual machines were becoming more capable, but entire formations still depended on fragmented communications and separate command systems.

The company began developing equipment that allowed Strikers, drones, aircraft, artillery, and infantry units to share information through a single battlefield network. In 2194, it produced its first experimental support Striker. Four years later, the company reorganized as ORPHEUS INTEGRATED SYSTEMS and entered the Striker market directly.
