Jensen Huang: Once you've been raised by Asian parents, you need therapy for life.
That line has really hit home for me lately. I worked hard to get into a good university, then worked hard again after graduating to pass the exams for a job where Iâll pretty much never get laid off, and to my parents itâs still not good enough.
They want me to keep going and take more exams.
But Iâm tired.
For the past year or two, for all kinds of reasons, the helplessness thatâs been bottled up inside me for so long just blew up.
It feels like no matter how hard I try, Iâll never reach the finish line. Theyâll never tell me, âYouâve done great.â
In other words, Iâll never be good enough.
But sorry, I just donât have the energy to be better anymore.
I donât wanna get too dramatic, so let me just tell you about something that happened the other day, because itâs basically my whole life in a nutshell.
I told my parents about what Iâve achieved on this platform. I wanted to share it because this is something I chose to do on my own. I stepped out of my comfort zone, kept putting in the work, got a little bit of recognition, and met some really cool people.
Their reaction?
âAh, so whatâs that good for? Can it make money?â
Thatâs so fucking messed up.
