The old van rumbled along a narrow dirt trail that twisted through a mysterious swamp forest. Thick fog drifted between the crooked trees while dark water shimmered beside the road. Behind the wheel, Fred kept his eyes fixed ahead as Daphne glanced out the window at the eerie scenery. "Fred, are you sure we're heading the right way?" she asked, watching the trail disappear into the mist. Fred gave a small shrug and tightened his grip on the steering wheel. "I think so," he replied, though he sounded far less confident than usual. Velma adjusted her glasses and studied a worn map, trying to make sense of the tangled routes winding through the swamp. Just then, a long, haunting howl echoed from deep within the forest. The sound drifted across the water and bounced between the trees before another howl answered from somewhere even closer. Shaggy nearly jumped out of his seat. "L-like, did anybody else hear that?" he yelped, scooting away from the window. Another howl cut through the fog, louder than before, and Shaggy sprang straight up in alarm, startling everyone in the van. Daphne looked nervously into the darkness while Velma peered outside, searching for the source. Fred pressed on down the lonely trail, but the uneasy silence that followed made it clear their journey through the swamp was about to become far stranger than any of them expected.
