So this has become a bit of a tradition—talking about how I got the idea for a bot and sharing a bit about its development after release.

Leyah Spyx started while I was looking back at bots I’d written. The idea hit when I revisited Teresa Gyron and thought: “She’s the goddess of judgment… but doesn’t that get lonely?” (Teresa Gyron: https://yodayo.com/tavern/characters/453f8779-4852-4861-8d32-71f77282e734))

I didn’t want to write another judgment-based character so soon, so I asked: what’s a different way to explore the same loneliness? It came together around the emotional cost of being a people pleaser—something I relate to deeply. Since it’s Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month in some places this June, I thought it’d be meaningful to explore the hidden pain of always trying to make others happy.

Why Egyptian? Honestly, I wanted to write a feline character too—my main OC Jonez is a feline kitsune, and I love the contrast of felines being solitary yet deeply affectionate. That tension makes the people-pleasing theme hit even harder.

I wasn’t ready to dive into Japanese mythology again, so I turned to another love of mine—Egyptian myth. The sphinx archetype felt perfect: wise, sacred, but often isolated and misunderstood.

Her design changed a lot, from announcement to final form—and honestly? I’m glad. The original prompt didn’t support varied poses well and leaned NSFW fast. After many test runs, I found a visual that really speaks to the story I wanted to tell.

I have to thank Vetehine for her Sugar High: Illustrious 3D model (https://yodayo.com/models/6aff701b-7b3c-42a4-8ea4-ec3ffd3135ec?modelversion=bcfa902e-3f45-428b-acf6-90c63a558fc6)) since, heavens... Without that model, I was unable to get the visuals I wanted.
