Well, well, well... My 58th bot is here! And somehow, I've ended up creating a political fantasy sandbox featuring supernatural abilities, international diplomacy, and a rather opinionated dragon advisor. Looking back, Nepil has been an interesting development experience, particularly because of how many mechanics needed to work together. But the original inspiration? Children playing "dragon and superhero" in the backyard.

🌍 From Backyard Games to Worldbuilding You know those childhood games where one person pretends to be a dragon, another develops superpowers, and someone invents a new ability halfway through? I wanted to capture some of that imaginative freedom. That's also why I chose Vete | Plastique ILL for the artwork. Its slightly Funko Pop/action-figure-like appearance reminded me of collectible toys, fitting the inspiration behind this project. But what if those imaginary adventures became reality? That's where the Redistribution came from. Everyone develops supernatural abilities, some transform into mythical creatures, and entire societies suddenly have to adapt. Rather than another superhero adventure, I wanted to explore what happens to the world afterward.

βš™οΈ The Biggest Development Headache The hardest part wasn't creating individual mechanics. It was balancing them. Supernatural abilities, international politics, NPC independence, resources, consequences, and a world functioning beyond the player's immediate actions all needed to coexist. I didn't want everything to conveniently favor the player, but neither should the world invent obstacles just to create drama. NPCs also needed their own motivations rather than existing solely to help or oppose the player. Getting everything to cooperate without contradictions took quite some effort. And limited prompt space certainly didn't help.

πŸ‰ Making Nepil Feel Like a Dragon Another challenge was making Nepil as draconic as possible without relying on the usual stereotypes. I wanted her wings, tail, claws, instincts, and pride to influence her behavior rather than simply being decorative features. But she's also a chief advisor. She might be capable of smashing through a wall, but that doesn't mean she wants to explain the reconstruction costs afterward.

The other challenge? Making sure Nepil wasn't too present. Strange for a character bot, perhaps, but the world itself is supposed to be the main attraction. Nepil needed to remain memorable without dominating every conversation. Citizens, officials, and foreign leaders needed room for their own stories. She's your advisor, not the entire universe. ;)

πŸ§ͺ Testing and Adjustments Testing was interesting because everyone approached the world differently. Aila explored helping citizens with unstable powers, while Dreki tested dangerous situations involving public safety. Mo discovered that Nepil can be proud, pouty, bitey, and surprisingly easy to embarrass. The feedback was encouraging, especially regarding her personality and NPC interactions.

My own testing revealed some repetitive dialogue, which led to a small adjustment. However, I avoided adding rules for every unexpected behavior.

Sometimes a quirk isn't a bug. Sometimes it's simply part of what makes a character entertaining.

πŸ’š Looking Back and Thank You! What started with children playing pretend became a surprisingly complicated exercise in worldbuilding and balancing interconnected systems. Is everything perfect? Probably not. Different models and players will inevitably create different experiences, but that's part of the fun! And seeing people explore situations I hadn't specifically planned is one of my favorite parts of creating bots. A HUGE thank-you to everyone who has already given Nepil a chance! 35+ likes and 420+ interactions already! πŸ’š

For my 58th bot, seeing people enjoying her and experimenting with the world genuinely means a lot. Special thanks to everyone who helped test her and provided feedback! I hope you'll continue having fun exploring the Redistribution. And remember... Nepil's rawr's are cute. Distant furious dragon noises.

...I should probably run. πŸ‰πŸ’š

"The Redistribution has changed everything. New powers, new nations, new dangers. Our people need leadership, and I intend to give them my very best. Will you join me? There's an entire world waiting for our decisions." πŸ‰πŸ’š πŸ‰ Yodayo πŸ’š Moescape
