My impression is that with SSS, the image and effects come out more refined and detailed.

But maybe it's the lora's influence - with SSS, it sometimes generates a more mature, deeper-looking face (#4), though it's not very stable (about 60%). Other times it might turn out like #2, just adding detail on top of a more typical anime look (about 40%).

• Simply put, without SSS you can consistently generate decent images (#1 #3).
• With SSS, you might get a really good-looking image (#2), or you might get an unexpected result (#4).
