🪙THE LUCKY GOLD COIN🪙

Far beyond the clouds, Earth hung silent in the blackness of space, the moon drifting beside it like a pale companion. Then the view plunged downward—through the atmosphere, through the centuries, and back into an ancient age. Rain had slicked a narrow street of uneven cobblestones, turning the lantern light into trembling rivers of gold. Through the quiet night walked a young lad named Alden, alone, one hand tucked casually into his pocket, never noticing the gold coin that slipped free. It struck the stones with a tiny clink, rolled through the lantern glow, flashed once, twice, and disappeared through the opening of a stone drain cover. But the coin did not stop falling. It plunged through darkness, through buried centuries, through time itself, until— CLATTER! It landed in a completely different world: a modern bathroom. Water hissed from a chrome faucet as a young man named Jay stood at the sink. He turned the tap, and with the final rush of water, the same impossible gold coin rolled into the basin. Jay stared at it in disbelief, then picked it up, grinning. “Whoa! My lucky day, yay!” he laughed, breaking into a goofy, happy little dance beside the sink. Completely unaware of the centuries between them, Jay celebrated his mysterious prize while, far away in the ancient past, Alden simply continued down the wet lantern-lit street—one coin lighter and none the wiser.
