Día de muertos 2026 (read desc.)

In México we celebrate "Día de muertos" (saying 'día de LOS muertos' is incorrect). Although the Coco movie is pretty much like it, is not totally accurate, but it works to let you know the basics. It's nice to think the people you cared or you loved is coming to have their favourite snacks while you sleep. Some may find it creepy but that's the way different cultures work, isn't it? And very much like trick or treat, mexican kids ask for a "calaverita" (meaning little skull), which is a mix of prehispanic and catholic traditions that came fom spain, in the rich houses they enjoyed expensive candies. Most people from centuries ago in New Spain territories -and the actual Mexico- were very poor, so they could only afford sugar candies. Long story short, at some point they started making sugar skulls and "Pan de muerto" (dead's bread, but not made with dead people, but to be put in the deceased's shrines or in their tombs in the graveyard).

So, in November 2nd i'll randomly give you "Calaverita" to five persons that have posted on my halloween challenge. you still have 1 and half days, almost 2 days to participate if you haven't!
